Wells Motorcycle Distributers, LLC owner Jessa Wells, and her husband Joey Wells, were born and raised on bikes, and they have a real passion for riding motorcycles, meeting new people at bike rally’s and swap meets, participating in fundraisers and giving back to the community, and experiencing the evolution of custom makes and models.
Both born in the late 70s, their fathers and grandfathers rode motorcycles. Raised to ride, Joey started riding independently at the young age of 15, and Jessica loves to ride on the back. She always told her dad, “YES!” to any opportunity for some wind therapy. Getting her own motorcycle license is her next step.
WMD, LLC was born around the untimely passing of Joey’s father, an Army Vietnam veteran. The money raised from selling his long-time acquired customer Harley-Davidson gear and his 2006 Heritage Softtail converted trike gave the couple their start-up funding, as well as their first taste of owning a business. “It’s a dream come true to own a family-owned business, and my father is looking down proud on his son and daughter-in-law for taking on this leaf of faith.” said Joey.
The couple has three children, Shalin, Aidyn and Rocco. Next to motorcycles, the children are the reason for starting a business. In 2017, both sons were diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, among other developmental delays and diagnoses. It was an initial shock to the family, but nothing stops the Wells Clan from growing and thriving.
The family fully embracing the special needs community with open arms and hearts. Giving back and serving the community is a part of the business model, and leaving a legacy for the children are the crux of why they what they do. “We don’t know what the future holds for our kids, and finding a job in the future may be a big challenge, but they will always have a job at WMD, LLC.” said Jessa, “In the future when we open our brick-and-mortar business, it is our goal to hire job-seeking veterans and people living with ASD.”
WMD, LLC delivers a high quality customer centric experience through our online specialty and consignment shop. The company sells new and gently used motorcycle accessories, riding leathers, riding gear, rebel biker and punk rock clothing and accessories – all Arizona tested and approved.
Joey and Jessa plan to take their online specialty and consignment shop to the next level and open for business in a brick-and-mortar location on the west side of Phoenix, with easy access to the I-10 and Loop 303 in Goodyear. The company will continue to operate online, but will expand to sell used motorcycles for the modern female rider upgraded with custom parts and accessories.
